Island Recycling processes more than three million pounds of paper each month. Cardboard, white and mixed office paper, waste paper from consumers, retailers, hospitals, State and City buildings, and federal military bases, as well as newspaper from the State’s major news agencies are collected daily and baled to be sent overseas to Asia or the West Coast. Once at its destination, the paper is processed and used to make different types of recycled paper goods. Price is based on market value.
